You can’t do what you want with a transition. Try using the Crop function or some other matte tool to create the shape you want.

First you should upgrade to FCE 2.0.3. It works fine with QT7 on my computer.

It’s not the nesting that’s causing the problem. Do you have speed changes in there? Time remapping? I’ll assume you’re running v4.5.
