DV is an interlaced television format. Are you looking at your output on a video monitor?

If you don’t have DSP3.5 you have to buy FCP to Studio upgrade if you want the whole Studio. You can’t do a Production Suite upgrade.

The Timeline and the Canvas are two sides of the same thing, one’s a graphical display, the others the visual display of a sequence. There is no way for the menu function to know which sequence you want to open.

To be honest I don’t think that’s really true. I would be surprised if Motion users where not just a subset of FCP users, who of course already have Apple computers. So I’m not so sure how many new sales Motion is generating. FCP and FCE, now that’s a different matter.

You might need a better computer, or the Motion forum.

Can you get it onto a disc or any sort that will play on a set-top player?

It should automatically appear in a submenu in Generators.
Boris Calligraphy 2.0 is one of the real unsung features in FCP5. Boris did some great things to improve the text tools and added useful other elements. In all the presentations I’ve seen, and in all the online articles, no one has mentioned this. It’s one of the outstanding new features in FCP5.
