An overwrite edit will only execute to the selected storyline, either the primary storyline, or a selected additional storyline.

I don’t think can do what you want. All keyframes are eased. The crop wipe would have to be a continuous motion, with a pair of keyframes. Sounds like you need to use Motion for this.

No, you can’t. In most circumstances FCE cannot open an FCP project.

You can even move a project by command dragging it. It least you could the last time I tried it.

This is changed in 10.0.1. Adding a transition will automatically create the storyline for you.

Then I guess the Mask effect. It lets you do one edge, and by moving the mask points out you can feather only one edge. Or if you pull them in you can feather all the way around. It’s more flexible than the old four point garbage mask.

Duplicating a project is the save as function. It does exactly what save as does. If you want to hide projects use Event Manager X from Intelligent Assistance.
