Something is very wrong here. I think something has been screwed up in the processed. I have no idea what rejected means in this context or why clips wouldn’t play.

The only problem might be if there are multiple formats on the card mixed together. The camera I think can shoot different formats and not all are AVCHD.

Do not navigate inside the archive. Simply select the archive, the top layer, and click Open.

It would be simpler if you updated the software

What version of the software are you using? What exactly happens when you open the Import window? What do you see?

It will use the original media.

If you’re duplicating a project with media you either have to make sure the media is in the events folder, or after you duplicate you have to run the organize media function. If you don’t you’ll have aliases to where the original media is, not actual video files.

It’s not quite full media management, but you can duplicate the project with any used clips. Then optimize the duplicated project. Any clip that wasn’t used in the original project will not be included in the duplicate.

I’m assuming you don’t just want to zoom into the viewer to see it in detail.

Click the Transform button in the lower left. Select transform, crop, or distort. Transform gives you scale, rotation, anchor point, pretty much like wireframe in 7.

You can right-click the application in the Applications folder and open pack contents. Go to Plugins>Media Providers>MotionEffect.fxp>Contents>Resources>Templates. You have in there Effects, Generators, Titles, and Transitions. I have no idea what hacking this will do to the application.

It may be counterproductive when you find you can’t do some things because the application no longer behaves as it was designed.

Shift-Cmd-G is break apart clips. The Position tool is just a crutch for not using the application the way it’s designed to work. You really don’t want to do that, not in this application.

“clips next to each other all seem to house themselves with a grey bar as a roof” It sounds like you’ve created a secondary storyline. A very useful tool.

1) Not really. You can’t switch it off.

2) Put a gap clip in the primary. Opt-W. Select it. The C key selects what’s under the skimmer in the storyline. Control-D for duration in the dashboard. Dial in a number.

You’re basically finding workarounds to fight the application. If you’re going to use this application you should learn how to use this application, and not learn how best you can make it behave like another application.
