You can’t. Everything is connected to the primary at some point or another. An additional storyline is connected at only one point, usually at the beginning, but it can be anywhere.

The sparse image will grow to a maximum specified size. If you make an 80G image and put 79.9G in it, there is very little room for it to grow.

Also space in a sparse image cannot be recovered. If you grow the sparse image to 80G and throw away 30G of media the space is not recovered. It does not go down to 50G, but remains at 80G and if that’s the limit, it will not grow further.

They have to go somewhere. Render files have always been associated with projects. In legacy FCP each folder had a project folder with render files. The only difference is project files are now part of the folder and backup structure in one place.

There is no backward compatibility. Intelligent Assistance has an app called X27, which will go from X to 7. Whether this will work with 6 I don’t know. You should contact them and se if they can help.

Rather than trying to sync them all at once sync the first set of cameras, them using the selected audio track, sync in the additional cameras. The two halves of the audio recording will probably have to be synced separately, perhaps I’m separate multicam clips. Make sure all the audio is running at the same sample rate.
