It needs to be on the system drive. You could install the OS on the external drive and then put FCP in that. Boot into the external when you want to run FCP.

You can select pieces to capture, but only by manually controlling the camera from the basic capture interface. I don’t know about the anamorphic display or the audio. I don’t recall either way and I can’t test it at the moment.

FCP can import tape via FireWire. It’s a very simplified function, no log and capture.

There was a save problem that could occur in older versions. It’s not been reported in the current version.

You can right-click on the title in the browser and select open copy in Motion. You could probably edit the title there. I think this title uses keyframes. Use the keyframe editor for this title so you can see where the keyframes are hitting.

Little speaker switch at the head of tracks in the Angle Editor lets you turn it on and off. Option click to select only one if you have a bunch on.

If you slipping the video you’re going to kill the audio, aren’t you? You can do it with the clip lifted out of the primary or in place and pull the adjacent audio or some other audio across it.

Double click the audio portions of the adjacent clips. Put the pointer over the video edit. It becomes the roll tool. Roll the video. The audio doesn’t move for me.

The upload image function doesn’t seem to be working for me.
