Go to Render>Render All and make sure Full is checked on.

How is the Glyph drive formatted? If it’s not correctly formatted it will take a short video but not a larger file.

    All the best,

Has everything in the sequence been rendered to Full? What format is the sequence? What format are you exporting to? What drive are you exporting to? How is it formatted?

No, but you can arrange them in date created order so they’ll be sequentially in the order in which they were ingested. If they were ingested and transcoded in timecode order that’s the order they will appear within the finder window.

    I suggested DV50 anamorphic.

Wow, a lot of questions. If you have NTSC video I’d suggest working in DV50 anamorphic, higher resolution than standard DV, better for titles, but still the same frame size as your video. You do not want to uprez your video to HD. You also want to get yourself a good, fast FireWire drive to hold your media.

Copy the clip with the settings you want (Cmd-C), select the other clips you want it applied to and use the paste attributes functions (Opt-V).

Dropped frames are usually caused by an inadequate drive, too slow, too full, incorrectly formatted, or too many things happening at the same time. RAM does not usually have any impact on this. PhotoJPEG is an unusual codec for the format you’re working in, which might also be another factor. High resolution PhotoJPEG files can require a quite high throughput. What’s the file size and data rate? What are the drives the media’s on and how is it connected?

Convert to ProRes LT with uncompressed 48k audio.

H.264 is not a production codec. It should never be used inside FCP. You need it to convert the video and the audio to a format supported natively by the application.

October 22, 2010 at 7:36 pm in reply to: Making a Sequence into a Clip

Just what it says: nested sequences have to be in the same frame rate as the master sequence they’re placed in. If you have to mix frame rates, something best to avoid if at all possible, then you’d have to export the nest as a self-contained movie and reimport it into FCP.
