You mean it’s ingested 29.97 media as if it was 15fps and frame doubling it? I’ve never heard of such a thing, and I don’t see how it would be possible.

Check the item properties of one of the clips in the browser. Check the item properties of the sequence in which you’re editing. Select each and press Cmd-9. Report what it says or post a screenshot of each somewhere on the web.

You need ClipWrap for 59.94 media. FCP doesn’t support AVCHD at 59.94.

Please give your full system specifications, what computer, what drives, what camera or deck, how everything’s connected, what settings are on the media, what settings you’re using in Final Cut, and finally what version of the software, of the OS, and of QuickTime you are using.

Make sure the camera is set to output HDV and is not set to automatic and make sure iLink is switched off. 1080i60 should be the correct setting with the Sony HDV device control preset.

That’s correct, but the I/O is the media limits, which means you can’t add any transitions.

The standard procedure is to create the subclips which act master clips to break down your media. You then open the subclip into the viewer, mark I/O and edit into the timeline.

Simply the select the sequence in the browser use batch capture.

No, FCP treats a subclip as a master clip and a complete piece of media. You need to mark I/O in the subclip before you edit. Do not use subclipping as an editing function but rather as an organizational tool.
