    Hi,

I’m a Final Cut Pro (Express) newbie (But use After Effects daily so forgive the incorrect terminology).

I have a 720×576 DV PAL anamorphic sequence with a load of video with the same settings – however when I start to edit and put video on my timeline it appears stretched – there is black bars top and bottom and actual video is squashed into the 16:9 window.

I can’t work out why this is happening as the sequence settings (as much as I can see of them anyway) are identical to the footage.

How can I get my footage and sequence to match? So frustrating!

    Any help appreciated,

    T

    Hi Tim,
i don’t work with FCE, but I guess that somewhere there is an option to set your sequence as “Anamorphic”.

Check the item properties of one of the clips in the browser. Check the item properties of the sequence in which you’re editing. Select each and press Cmd-9. Report what it says or post a screenshot of each somewhere on the web.

    All the best,

    Tom
