Sorry, this should say that audition CANT recognise an ultrastudio 4K connected via thunderbolt 2.

It’s more than odd that logic and fcpx can do it but audition can’t. Audition also can recognise the thunderbolt 2 connection with ultrastudio 4K, so the only option is to use thunderbolt 2 to a monitor and make this a full screen display, which may or may not work. Plus the panels we have for client preview need to be fed by hdmi direct or via an ultrastudio 4K.
We’ve found a solution but unfortunately it meant ditching audition.

That’s really, really impressive service for an amount far less than Apple care.

Work with red footage, i9 helps deciding on the fly. It’s a non GPU task that the CPU does. More CPU cores and grunt, faster decode and playback/render.

1m55 ish.

i9 Processor seems to underperform due to cooling issues, and cannot outperform a 2017 i7 model. When the i9 model is placed in a FREEZER, the i9 chip is able to run at full pace and cuts its render times by 12 MINUTES. This is insanity. Nothing says enough with the skinny designs for a MacBook Pro like this does. Fair enough, this is running Premiere which everyone is going to say, hasn’t been optimised for Mac performance, but unless FCPX does everything perfectly well with no cooling issues – this is bonkers.

I’ll test tomorrow, but I’ve got a feeling that it still won’t work due to 2 things; the fat32 structure that breaks the movs up into smaller chunks, and in turn I think this causes issues with matching timecode.

Having the same problem with a shoot where we used a red weapon helium to generate 8K r3d’s and 2K prores proxies. Imported the proxies to fcpx to start the edit and then wanted to relink to full res versions when picture locked. Fcpx crashes constantly when we try and relink the first one – can not do it.

We have an extensive background in interactive touchscreen projects, and interactive video, but your description is kind of vague in terms of what interactivity there will be? Plus, what license is required for interactivity when a basic touchscreen programme can be produced using anything from HTML5 to Flash to Director to C?

Yup – DJI are rubbish in Europe too. They produce (or perhaps used to as I believe it has been discontinued) a remote follow focus kit. It was sold for use on all lenses but constantly was burning out motors that they would wriggle away from replacing under warranty.

Nice. Id imagine they were using something like Dataton Watchout or Pandoras box to split the video signal which makes that part (relatively) easy, but aligning and colour balancing the projectors is another story….
However, I did see Christie released a project recently that could auto align projectors based on image recognition. I might be wrong about the brand, but sure I’d seen it was Christie.
