First, from my own observations, cartoons don’t use “thought bubbles” or “speech balloons” at all. Cartoons usually use audio for thought dialog, usually with a touch more reverb than spoken dialog (as an example, look at old episodes of “Married With Children”, noting how the dog “talks”). Comic books use “thought bubbles” and “speech balloons”.
While it’s probably a matter of personal preference, I find the use of “thought bubbles” and “speech balloons” in video/film to look corny (which is okay if you’re making a Monty Python-like video). Personally, I’d use close-ups of the cat, in conjunction with a vocal track (with extra reverb).
As to your question, you really only asked one thing:
“I was wondering if, after I complete editing this video, and export it out to a .mov file, if I could import that .mov file to AE, scrubb along the timeline to the spot where I would like to add the text ballon, and add it to the movie in AE, and then export it back out (with its audio, etc) with the added cartoon like balloon?”
And the answer is simply, “Yes”. -
I only looked at one (the explosion tute) and I thought the content was pretty good (based on the audio). It’s just a shame you can’t see what’s going on. Had the video been clear enough to watch, I’d have looked at your other tutes.

“I could not see the example you put up… the link dosen’t seem to be active… ”
Take the period off the end of the link.

My situation is the same as Thad. I didn’t need to do anything out of the ordinary to install the plugins.

[Jason Allen] “I actually work in the Australian equivalent of Home Depot’s paint department”
You mean you work for Bunnings?
I got a saturated green from Bunnings, that works great for keying (yes, it was a Dulux formula). The only problem I had were the odd looks I got from the Bunnings employees, when I said what I wanted it for.

[mi wa] “I tried it with the fractal noise of after effect but I didnt get the right effect.”
What exactly do you mean by “the right effect”? Without knowing what effect you’re going for, nobody can really help you. Sure, we could all give you what we consider to be “the right effect”, but that may not be what you envisage.

“i can’t do nothing more “
This would suggest that you can do something more.
Perhaps you meant “I can’t do anything more“, or “I can do nothing more“.
No, I was never an English teacher. LOL.

I’m just guessing here, but I think what you are asking is how to wrap that image around into a cylinder.
If I’ve guessed right, try the CCcylinder effect.

[Todd Morgan] “Keylight hates DV footage and you will never get a decent key.”
Rubbish!!
I’ve managed to get some pretty decent keys, using Keylight on DV footage. Anybody who says it can’t be done either hasn’t made the effort or has a dislike for DV (probably due to jumping on the anti-DV bandwagon).

The videocopilot earthquake tutorial loaded fine for me.
