This has to be one of the most asked audio questions on the internet (this forum included). If you have to ask it again, you haven’t done any research into it, at all.
Unless you’ve got the original recordings (masters), it ain’t gonna happen. The best you can hope for is lowering of the vocals, and if you try to go too far with it, you’ll begin to lose some of the stuff that you’re trying to keep.
Save yourself time and anguish, by buying a karaoke version of the song. You might even get by with a midi version. There are programs available to change the instruments used in midi files, which can yield surprisingly good results (certainly better than what you’d end up with, by the time the vocals are completely inaudible).
Of course, I’m assuming you have taken the appropriate steps to securing permission to use this piece of music.

Put the magnify effect on an adjustment layer, above your map layer. Paste the keyframes (making sure you’re at frame 0), then adjust the adjustment layers anchor point, until the magnify effect is in the desired starting position.
If you have other layers in your comp, you’ll need to precompose the adjustment and map layers (to prevent the adjustment layer affecting other layers).

Switch to screen matte view (in keylight) and bring down the clip white value until your matte is clean.

You might try putting peanut butter in her mouth. It should cause her to move her mouth (in an effort to devour the peanut butter, which sticks to the roof). That’s how they got Mr Ed to “talk”.

Did you export from FCP as MPEG? If so, that could be causing you problems. AE doesn’t like MPEG much.

My only suggestion is that it may be a little too long to hold peoples interest. Otherwise, great work for an AE novice.

You could try FlipBook. They have Lite, Studio and Pro versions at various prices. You can get FlipBook Lite for either Windows or OS X from $79. I haven’t tried the software, but it certainly sounds good.

I guess it depends on the tone you use when you call someone “that character”.
As it’s hard to tell what tone you were intending when you posted, I shouldn’t have assumed the worst.

Andrew Kramer’s work is well respected here at the Cow. I think it’s offensive to refer to him as “that videocopilot character”. Even if you can’t remember his name, you could refer to his website without using “that videocopilot character”.
