Vegas can handle both. How is your camera connected – iLink (firewire) or USB?
Can you post the exact steps you take to setup capture?

Are you using Vegas’ external Vidcap or the internal HDV capture application.When you click on capture it ask which you want use. For HDV you must select HDV.

I’ll try to answer one step at a time…
If a render completes, then the movie is saved. It depends on where you pointed it to save to. Otherwise it would go the default set by the program. So your movie was there somewhere.

What is your input format and what are you rendering as? Please give us precise info or we can’t help. Downconverting from HD to SD will take some time.
We have nothing concrete to go on even after so many posts.

Jim,
Are you trying to burn an SD or HD DVD?DVDA Studio does not support HD content; IoW – Blu-ray.
My suggestion would be to render out from Vegas Studio as a Widescreen DVDA NTSC video stream (assuming you’re not in PAL land) and as a separate AC3 audio stream for the audio.
Then bring those into DVDA.

Really sorry you feel that way.
I have been using Vegas since v3 and can honestly say it’s the most intuitive piece of s/w I have used.
Perhaps if you shared your frustration, we could help you over the bump.

Vegas, what this forum is about, has a Media Manager component.
