I finally found the solution, and it was as small and stupid as I thought it was 🙂
I have a CM 690II advanced case, with an audio jack in the front panel. From the first time I booted, the audio manager started freaking out whenever I plugged a jack in. The connection is good, so either it’s a broken cable, but with a good enough connection for me to hear my audio smoothly, or a software problem. I never thought of this, since I turned the notifications off (found that ‘solution’ online, a lot of people were having problems with this, hooray for realtek drivers lol) but it seems this is what’s buggin premiere pro.
It makes sence come to think of it.
I thought there was a problem with ppro and my hardware, but I encountered the same problem when I tried Edius, so I knew it wasn’t ppro’s fault.
Anyway, I’m happy to be editing properly again, I hope this helps someone with a similar problem 🙂
For now, I’ll use my headphones for editing, untill I find the time to fix the bad connection.
Thanks all for your help (I posted a similar topic a while ago and got some good tips there as well.
Signing off,
Tom
