    Hi Eric

Sounds like a dodgy source file. Have you tried Edit Ready.

What I have also done with strange or old formats like this that don’t work properly or transcode I import in After Effects and then export to ProRes. Sometime I have to export around the damaged area. The fact that you can’t copy it off your HD seems like it is a corrupt file.

    Hi Thanos

So this issue really bugged me a while back and after lots of searching I final found the answer that has been working for me ever since.

When choosing Optical Flow let it FINISH its analysis before moving on. On export yes it will be fine but in the projects I can now render all my Optical Flow clips.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Craig.

Do you know of any way to change the audio codec or what the audio codec is for the MP4 setting that comes with Compressor.

  • Hi Paddy.

Thanks for the feedback. I have FCP 7 installed as well, but irritating, want to make the jump but am running into issues.

  • Have you found a solution yet Jeremy.

I am working on a Mac so quicktime definitely is not the problem.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

That sounds perfect! But do you need the whole of lunch?

Thank you for the insight but I don’t need and don’t want the entire suite, this is one basic function which is all I need and I assume Apple will want us to eventually move away from FCP 7 and not be FCP X + Automatic Duck.

As for your analogy, I don’t want the old car, its old, it may work and I will have to take it out now and again but eventually it will die.
