You can open the templates in Motion and change pretty much anything and then do a Save As and bring it back into FCP.

Crop the edges of the frame in very slightly. That will often smooth out the stair-stepping look on the frame edges.

Are you shooting an HD format? The focus assist doesn’t work with SD formats.

I run 5 Panasonic 370’s in a remote truck. They are on the road 4-5 events a week and are holding up well. I also run them with the control panels. We do a lot of night time events and lots of shows in gyms with less than perfect lighting and the 370’s look pretty good. I run them with Volamp fiber optic CCU’s/backs with 500ft of cable on each camera. We’ve done around 150 events with them and they just work.

I’ve been using G-Speed es raids (RAID5) for a few years with no issues. You can configure a single 4-drive RAID using 4Tb drives or use more than one at RAID5 for safety.

Nesting doesn’t work!?
WOW, I must be really lucky. I use nesting all the time without issues. I use it to reduce a multi-layer segment to a single track. It does work in FCP. Why do you think it doesn’t work? Just curious, Dave.E=MC2+/-2db

If you have a MacPro, you have space for three more internal drives in addition to the system drive. Copy your footage to one of the other drives, assuming you have them installed. Relink and try it. An internal SATA drive should be able to do two streams of video without issue assuming you aren’t cutting something like Red footage.
USB external drives won’t work reliably.
Drives are pretty cheap and install in about 5 minutes or less. If you add new drives, make sure they are formatted for Mac before trying to use them.E=MC2+/-2db

BTW, there is no problem editing either AVC-Intra 100 or 50 within Final Cut. The formats work without issue. I shoot AVC-Intra 100 all the time and have never had any issues editing within FCP 7.

Please note that he HVX-200 does not offer the AVC-Intra format. It will only record DvcPro HD at 1440×1080. I believe that the HPX-250 will record AVC-Intra 100/50.
