August 24, 2006 at 11:38 am in reply to: New computer system requirements (hardware/encoder boards)Not to be bitter against Matrox, I have the RT100, and they dumped it, and came out with a new card. So I dumped Matrox. This just gets tiring when the software moves forward and the hardware does not. Oh I know I can buy the new card for $$$$$$ and then thew will do this to me again it a year. NOT
Thanks

Welcome to the world of audio, little tougher than video at times. Do a little more resarch and the best solution is mics run into a portable mixer then from there run to your camera. A lot of work but is really only the correct way to do it is to have control of your audio
Best wishes

Wear the other’s shoes for a day. Say you are a company looking for video production. How would you start looking? What would make you choose a company or person to do work for you. Do this and I think you will answer your own question. What works for one may not work for you. Follow your instincts and go with it.
Good Luck

I really get a kick out of your comment that you feel sorry for people that purchased Mactels cause there are secons best again . I would love to see how you make your purchase decisions, is it base on just speed? Did you think that maybe people want to use FCP? I bet you feel sorry for people that purchased a Chevy instead of a Ford also
Happy editing or what ever you do

First, go to a good dealer and get hands on and ask questions. The post that says 1/3 chip is no good is miss informed. The new Panasonic is doing quite well with real hd. Learn what the difference is between Hd and HDV. You ask if the clients will still want sd ? How would you deliver a finished HD product to them ? You have got to do a little more research

I hane been down this road, Your audio is only as good as your weakest link. Don’t waste your money and put cheep mics to a good camera, you will be sorry. Save your money and get some good gear. I bit the bullet two years ago anf purchased a Lectro lay setup. wish I have done it years earlier. You get what you pay for. Try renting first and see whats out there
Best regards

Hi guys I do not have the camera, saw them at NAB. Panasonic did send me a 2 dvd set on the HVX 200. On the second dvd there is P2 footage, P2 viewer for the PC and HD logger demo for the MAC. Thought it might be of interest to you. The DVD is titled AG HVX 200 Countdown
