  • I use AVS Media Converter all the time to do what you want.
    https://www.avsmedia.com/VideoTools/index.aspx
    It’s only $40.

The quality is obviously not as good as the original footage, but it’s usually good enough.

Generally, if I plug the camera and then plug it back in, that seems to work.

Also plug the camera in first, the nthe software – that might help.

Some businesses still archive to backup tapes, but they are specially formatted for that purpose – they don’t use mini-DV.

Backup to a large external hard drive, or if you have a small project, you can archive to a DVD.

MiniDV is not meant for backup purposes.

If you’re just beginning, I’d start researching Premiere tutorials – use Google and Youtube.

Also try Lynda.com, they have some great Premiere tutorials.

Standard DVD’s can hold 1 to 2 hours video, depending on the quality.

I also just saw this in DV magazine.

In AE he uses Effect – Color – Leave Color.
Do a search in the mag for the details or subscribe.
Most videographers can get a free subscription.

I use AVS Media Creator to change DVDs and VOB files to something more usable. It has lots of options and is well worth the money.

I generally don’t use Bridge unless I want to view a video – it’s good for that.

I generally pull all the footage I think I’m going to use into a project, then I make sure the “Video Usage” column is close to my file name. As I use files, they are checked under Video Usage. Toward the end when I have files which are not used, I delete them from the project, to keep it cleaner.

You can also try to change the drive name to C:

Right click My Computer – Manage – Disk Management – Click on the drive and then – Change Drive Letter.

I’d just make a picture in Photoshop of the background you want and use that – then just add your text over it.

March 8, 2008 at 1:40 pm in reply to: Can I edit a Clip Notes PDF?

Clip Notes is used for people to make Notes to your video, and then send the notes back to you so you can make the changes.

These files aren’t meant to be edited.
