hello. i wasn’t sure of a better term for this, but i’ve found that using bridge as an app to organize my clips for editing with premiere has been very useful. so when i’m editing, i have premiere in one window and bridge in another. when i need a clip, i find it in bridge, perhaps preview and then drag it into premiere.

however i wasn’t sure how other people do this. do most keep all their assets as part of the premiere project to begin with? my gripe is now that i’m using two different apps to pull clips (premiere proj window) and bridge, sometimes i drag extra clips from bridge into premiere , cluttering my project. any thoughts?

I generally don’t use Bridge unless I want to view a video – it’s good for that.

I generally pull all the footage I think I’m going to use into a project, then I make sure the “Video Usage” column is close to my file name. As I use files, they are checked under Video Usage. Toward the end when I have files which are not used, I delete them from the project, to keep it cleaner.
