I bought another 32gig very recently, it was nearly as expensive as a gallon of pertol, $2200 AUD Go figure ??
Me and ten thousand other P2 users would just be happy with a Two slot realistically priced card reader, preferable cheaper than a gallon of petrol.

I’d like it if I could trade up my now small 8 gig cards for more 32gigers , or even 64’s later this year.
When I started in P2 , the 8 gigs were all that were available, now ther’e more of a hassel being so small.

Hi Chris,
make sure you have installed the P2 card driver software onto your computer as well-

otherwise the camera will not be seen by the computer.

Hello Neal,
I’ve been on this P2 Card Reader quest for my New Macpro for some time, it’s a frustrating issue, If your client has many dollars go with the Panasonic 5 card reader.
If they are like the rest of us, then it’s a challenge, there are many posts about on many forums re finding a solution.
I have a Amtrom reader in my Old G4 Mac OS Tiger 10.4.8, it works great.
In my new Macpro running Leopard 10.5.2 it’s a whole new ball game. Leopard seems like Vista.
I have a SIIG P2 card reader in a PCIe to PCI expansion case connected to my Macpro, the case is recognized but the card isn’t, a firewire 800 card next to the SIIG in the case works flawlessly. I’m told Leopard can only see Firewire and USB, unless the manufacturer provides a “driver”.
The cheapest way to input into the Macpro is just install the Pana P2 card driver in to the Macpro, and Log and transfer your files straight from the camera, USB or Firewire, Mine ingests at about 4 times real time to two striped WD750’s.
This at times is most inconvienient and it puts extra hours on the camera, Plus the camera cannot be used while this is happening.
Panasonic have announced a new 5 card reader, but they are confused if it’s a PCIe or an Expresscard connection or both. and it will not be cost effective for the casual user.

Up date,
Now i’m close , BUT, the Mac OS is the problem (10.5.2), so,
I have a SIIG PCMCIA/PCI card mounted in a PCIe to PCI expansion case into the Intel G5 , the case is recognized by 10.5.2 leopard. The expansion case is seen and works OK. But system profiler says no driver for the SIIG card is installed.
so as a test, I loaded boot camp (XP Pro SP3 ) and the SIIG card are recognized by XP and works OK with P2 cards, But, Booting back to Mac OS 10.5.2 (so to be able to use my FCS apps), Nothing works in the expansion case except for the Firewire 800 card. This has shades of Vista to me.Cheers

Hi Guys
A cheap windows laptop with PC slot and a 500 gig external drive is way more cost effective than a P2 sore, My Macpro 3ghz on Leopard ingests P2 very nicely and quickly. from USB front port. Hope to have card reader up soon as well for it.

Hi Tar Neil
If this is your first attempt at a wedding go with one camera, also you should have worked with a wedding videographer a few times prior to taking on the challenge. If you mess up you’ll want to find a very dark corner to hide from the bride.
Good Luck

Hi Michael,
Couple of problems I believe, the Duel adapter I’ve heard is problematic, and it’s very short cable, and it is not hot swap, and worst aspect is that it would come out the rear of the tower, thats a last resort, and looks very un-professional in front of clients.
