Thanks, Don. I’ve been on the phone with Sony all morning and so far, they’re stumped as well. 🙁

I’ve checked the settings and still cannot import subclips with the Sony PDW HD 1500 AND the Sony XDCAM 700-(the camera).

We have the latest FAM driver 2.2 and the latest firmware for the HD1500 (1.5.1). We’ve duplicated the problem on two different Mac systems, one running the XDCAM software 2.11, and one running 2.10. We’ve changed firewire cables.

The last subclip I imported was Feb 17. I first noticed the problem Mar 9. Any ideas? Again. I can import an entire clip, just not subclips. And I can import subclips with the Sony PDW U1 that connects via USB.

Hi Don,
My transfer settings are exactly the same. But I’ve narrowed the problem to our playback machine, the 1500. We’re checking settings now. I finally thought to use the PDW U1 and it imports subclips just fine. Someone used our 1500 machine to upconvert a video. Maybe the settings got messed up. Keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks. I upgraded. Still having the issue. It’s with subclips only.

Sorry, I was WAYYY off on the specs. Here they are:
Mac Pro tower: 2-3GHZ QUAD core Intel Xeon; Memory 10 GB 800DDRZ FB-DIMM

Mac Pro raid card with hardware version 1.0, firmware M-2.0.5.5; 2.67TB with 243GB left.

Final Cut 7.0; QT 7.6.4; OS 10.5.8

Clip info from the Final Cut browser: 1280X720, data rate 6mb/sec, compressor XDCAM HD 422 720p 60. I’m running the clip off the RAID.

XDCAM transfer software 2.8.0

Clip imported off the XDCAM HD PDW HD1500 with a 400 firewire connection.

For the Compressor issue (failed compression) Compressor version 3.5
