I’m using Premiere CS5 with Windows Vista. I need to edit DNXHD files. I can’t import them directly into Premiere CS5, so I try downloading the Avid codecs. Then what? Still can’t import the files. What does it mean to rewrap them? I need idiot-proof guidance.

How do I disable the audio when I import DNxHD files into After Effects CS5? Step by step, please. I don’t have AVID and I’m really not familiar with Quicktime.

I’m trying to edit DNxHD files on Premiere CS5. The files play on Quicktime player. I’ve downloaded the Codec from Avid but nevertheless can’t import the files into either Premiere or AE.

  • Same problem. Black Magic Hyperdeck Studio generates MOV files using DNxHD codec. I need to edit the video using Premiere Pro CS5 / Windows Vista 64. The files play fine using QuickTime Player.

I downloaded from Avid and executed the file that’s supposed to install the codec. This seems to work fine.

When I try to import the files into Premiere, the error message is “Unsupported format or damaged file.”

I’ve also tried importing the files into After Effects. The error message is “File cannot be opened, it may be in an unsupported format.

I’ve combed through the Adobe and Avid forums. This seems to be a familiar problem. The suggestions either don’t work or are incomprehensible to me.
