yeah, see, i’ve already messed with those settings: I’ve tried setting both top and bottom to white, top to black, bottom to white, top to white, bottom to black. I’ve tried changing the background to white, however none of these changes alter anything (yes I did hit the apply button).

ok, i got one vid on a track over the other. I used the mask function, but the software help said that next i needed to make a “mask generator” I did that, but i dont see anywhere were I can draw a line around the sailboat. Instead i can change different settings which change the transparency of different elements of the event.

I was wondering… would it be better to get a not so good microphone, but with xlr, or to get a better microphone with the 1/4 inch input cable thing.

If i do get something with xlr, would an xlr to 1/4 inch input ruin the sound quality? I would need a 1/4 inch plug for the recording device im using.

I’m looking for a shotgun microphone, this is a christmas offer from my parents (im 15, interested in film making) and they set a limit at around 100 dollars. I would pay out of my pocket to add to the price range, but im already spending a ton on a recording device, and i dont want to blow my wallet.

  • actually, i found an alternative recording option- using a guitar music recorder, which i got at a huge discount. Thanks for your help!

    tom

  • i see what you mean… I also thought that if i soldered inside the camcorder, and got 2 lead wires out that i could attach to the mic.

    Is that too risky?
