yeah, sorry about that. I test rendered part of it, and it came out fine.

I dont know why i never noticed this in any of my other projects.

Thanks, What i film: if its for school, then either documentary, or dramatic. On my own its usually dramatic (im not a good enough writer to come up with a script for comedy). I also do vacation video’s, but thats not important.

I am 15 years old, and am looking towards going into the film industry (hopefully director, but thats unlikely). Anyway, I am doing small amateur films, or school projects almost year round. I have a half decent camcorder, that has great picture quality, however, as usual, the onboard mic is crap. At the time that i got it I never thought of using an external mic, so i did not get a camera with an input for an external microphone, and so that is why i need to record separately.

    Thanks for all your help.

Sorry, but do you know any universally good/ reliable brand names?

I’m not sure about sound, however they are more sensitive (disturbances= unwanted noise), they tend to be a little bit bulkier as well. The other problem is that everything is becoming digital, and so things become dated (in 5 years, analogue systems might not work, etc). Better go with the newer technology.

i use the panasonic gs320, which is a great camera, and i know that the 230, and 120 are all in the same line. Regarding the mic and mixer:

I was going to buy the rode myself, however I did not like the fact that it was attached to that camera mount (I wanted to record audio separately, not via camera), so I bought the schriber sa- 568ZM shotgun instead. That and the Rode are great mics, but definitely more consumer buys than that mixer you were looking at. Keep in mind, your equipment is only as good as your worst piece.

    My questions for you:
In what way/ for what purpose do you want to record audio? Do you want to record on camera, or separately?

I also have another question: I find a lot of these transformers with great reviews, that say that it works well with shotgun mics, etc. Unfortunately they dont say what impedance it transforms too! Why not!?

using schriber acoustic- 568 shotgun+ a recording device actually ment for guitar, its called line 6 backtrack (i know, i tried to cut back on costs).

  • well, i’ll think about that. I’ve been upgrading individual parts of my equipment (camera, mic, etc). Next will be software.

    thanks

  • dang. is there a more complex way, or should I just forget about it?
