Ryan I dont think thats true. In a retooled.net tutorial it says that if you make your preview renders Prores, they to are used in the smart rendering like the regular media.

Yes, but this post made March 5 at the Toolfarm suggest that TLP licensing (which is a full purchase download I believe) could still get install disks ($20) for what they purchased (CS6 in this case).

I asked Adobe about this ad nausem on Twitter but havent gotten any response.

I have been and still am a big Adobe fan. And yes, this product has not been released yet so everything is hypothetical.

There’s nothing I would love more than for an Adobe staffer to grab me when Im at their booth tomorrow and tell me, “Dont worry. you can buy it like you could in the past (perpetual) or you can get it from the cloud. Its your choice”.

That would make me and thousands of others very happy.

Jon, Im pretty sure that I heard Adobe state that Cloud owners would have access to older versions. That needs to be confirmed by them however.

One of the points being made here is that Adobe has not made any mention of whether we CAN by a perpetual license (full ownership) of the software. Most Cloud promotion could lead you to believe that with CS Next1 this is not possible. Just monthly renting.

I decided since I had some time this week, I got the demo disk from Maxon and am taking the free C4D tutorials offered by digital tutors.
I do enjoy learning new stuff if I can see a use for it. I just have to flush out my brain cache of Blender stuff for the moment to make some room 😀

How I pursue it in the future will be determined most likely from my visit to the HP booth to really see how C4D performs inside AE.

Im going to visit the HP booth were hopefully they will have CS Next running on a comparable Z820 to mine. I want to see how the display and render performance of C4D inside AE is.
