Hi. I bumped into a snag. I am using 3D Invig 4.06 Pro. When I dupe the Zax layer, then go into the setup screen and tumble the text, all is fine.When I exit, 3DI does not update the tumbled text. It will, if I turn off “Use Comp Cam” but I know that defeats the point of this approach.I am confused….

Get the “Pyro Pack” of Particular presets (thats alot of p’s in one sentence), from the Trapcode website. Its just what you are looking for and its FREE!

Thanks for the detailed response, Steve. Since I am building this for use on my Avid DS for broadcast…the final comp is 720 x 486 nonsquare. The client hasnt provided the stills to me yet….so I would guess they are square Photoshop photos.
I thought it wise to play around with the effect before executing it in the edit bay with the client present. The concepts you shared should help me in achieving the look I want…but there still are some unknowns until I see the photos. I appreciate your help.

It turns out that Forge Free form was exactly what the doctor ordered.
My simple need for a backdrop in 3D space was nicely achieved in After Effects. I think you miscontrued
what I was looking for.

Forge Free Form seems an expensive way to do this .
