Im one of the original posters and I have not heard of any resolutions

I thought that those limitations were unique to my G5 and its Radeon
9600 XT card. Maybe thats NOT the case?

Unfortunately that slowness ALSO applies to newly createdMotion 3 files that are embedded in FCP (which are there to take advantage of the highly touted dynamic link between FCP6 and Motion 3.)

Hopefully you are given the screen after you crash then sends info to Apple Techs and allows you to describe what you were doing and the system you were doing it on…so they can sort the problems out soon.
Ive been filling mine out religously.

Herb, I tried switching to the “Normal” render choice and did not even notice that much of a speed increase.

I am also looking forwars to Walters tutorial. I found the Color tutorial provided with the
FCP2 disks a good warm up to its capabilities, but I seek more knowledge.

From many accounts, sending a clip out to Motion 3 (from FCP6) for titles and effx will result in a dramatically increased render time (estimated by Boris as 5x what Motion 2 took), If this render hit is a problem for you it also should be considered. I love the new Final Cut Studio,
I just cant abide the Motion rendering hit.

Excellant thought, but I checked both the Motion 3 file and the FCP6 file where the Motion 3 file is embedded and motion blur was not activated in either. I sure wish it had been the culprit!

At this point the massive increase in rendering time seems prohibitive.

I am hopefull these issues will be addressed. Im just glad Im in a long term education & evaluation period with the software, so my livelyhood is not reliant upon its performance at the moment.
