Please give me more details what is the format (size) and codec (compression) of the media. Can you give me a link to where you got i?
It sounds like the Adobe software doesnt know what kind of media it is.
So Im guessing its codec related. But getting the info might help clarify things.

Yes Joe, previously you could import PS 3D files into AE CS5. That Im told was not the case anymore on AE CS6.

I find Proanimator exceptional for text and logo animation, but Invigorator is awful. Proanimtors “Pose” GUI is genius to me.

In my experience Elements text animating capabilities are extremely limited. Beautiful, but limited.

I think another strength is the ability to import 3D models into AE . Its just allows more creative opportunities.

And its GUI is just as thorough and beautiful as Optical Flares.

Yes, lots 😀

I use autotrace on jpg and other files to prep them for use in Element.

Check out his Bio-hazard tutorial to see just how versatile and powerful it is.

The only thing it doesnt have is Proanimators sophisticated ability to animate.

Dave, when beta testing CS6 and exploring that function, I also was told that ability to import 3D psd files was not available any more in CS6.

Walter, normally I dont trust monitors out of the box either. But when I placed calibration charts on both my Apple Cinema HD 27 and the HZR30wS-IPS, the difference was shocking to me.

I can understand the need for tweeking and fine tuning, but the HPs was not even close as a starting point as compared to the Apple.The link you provided to AnandTech backs up my initial perception.

I have calibrated it as close as I can. It just strikes me as rather disappointing for a monitor intended for professional workstation use in medical and graphics situations needs so much help to get it right. Where the consumer Apple monitor is dead on from the get go.

I agree with Walters evaluation.

While the text is nice. Its animation capabilities are limited.

I like using it as graphics elements to add interest to motion graphic compositions.

Like framing text with a 3D model then using an animated camera to revealing things over time.

I would choose PNY. They have great customer support and seem to be better then the rest from my perspective.
