To put them in order in your bin, click on the Media Start header. That sorts the clips in the bin by starting time code. Very important with P2 clips. Is that what you’re looking for?

The PC laptop works fine. There is no problem with file sizes when transferring P2 to a FAT32 drive. Long takes are fine, as long as you don’t exceed the total capacity of the drive. The 4GB limit is observed in the P2 system, so long takes are composed of multiple files. After all, P2 cards are also formatted FAT32.

My MBP has FC 6, Leopard, CS4 and no Flash export. So, to me it appears that it was CS4 that got rid of the component. But it’s possible that some other update or installation did it. I also have Sqeeze 5 on the machine, which is what I use to make Flash.

I noticed that my g5, which has Adobe Production Premium CS3 has the FLV export option. The Macbook Pro (Intel) has CS4 and no export to FLV. I use Squeeze on that machine. It looks like Adobe killed the component (?).

Hi Chris,
Yeah, I’m just grasping at straws with that theory. You’re correct, the ProRes422 version does have the same PAR. So it might be the WM encoder having trouble with DVCProHD. I’m going to WM9 using something very close to one of the standard presets in the Flip4mac Studio Pro HD software. It’s the 2000kbps, VBR, 960×540. The only change I make is to limit the max bit rate. I’ll see if I can pick up any info from the Panasonic or Telestream folks. Thanks for your thoughts.

MPEG-2 is really your only choice for SD DVD. I would go the opposite direction and use CBR compression. Whenever I run into pulsing on the GOP transition I try CBR.

Glad it worked out. I’ve run into a shot or two with that problem, so the Furnace filter is a good find.
