I was doing almost the same thing, except instead of selecting ‘layer of position’, been directly making selection of position within that layer. While it was the only difference and I was going to celebrate, a bit too early, unfortunately !
The ‘shape path’ in my setup is under this structure:
var curShape = shapeLayer.property(“ADBE Root Vectors Group”).property(“ADBE Vector Group”).property(“ADBE Vectors Group”).property(“ADBE Vector Shape – Group”).property(“ADBE Vector Shape”);Could this be a case?I tried your direct access without matchnames, and both ways retrieve the same shape object, so I guess it shouldn’t be a problem for shape is built and declared. However, nothing happens.
My assumption is that copying doesn’t occur, because if I debug after copying is made, there are no actionable ‘paste data’. Any ideas why? All layers are deselected, and I am selecting the path as :
shapeLayer.selected = true;
curShape.selected = true;
While debugging, I can see that proper items are selected (the path with stopwatch). But the copying of its data seems to be failing.

Hey Dan, in such scenario – could you suggest what is the best way to treat global variables? Because if there are some affected variables inside the function, they will stay local within that ‘custom’ function. \
Should it be done by building object of variables to be returned or is there a better way?

Hey Adam, looking at this, you most likely need to place each line of text into separate layer, and scale all of them up to certain width amount, while keeping text boxes aligned, OR just create one box which would take all text heights into account, including the padding.
Or alternatively, you can check Boxer on videohive, which will allow you to do this in a robust way, rather than hitting a head into a wall figuring out expressions for this.

Just as Andrei mentioned – not possible.
I assume you expected to generate single video and then swap data, but this is logically impossible to achieve, as video renders out as ‘baked’ single piece of output.

Hey Spencer, most of nowadays scripts comes as Extensions in CEP HTML panels. So basically Extendscript takes place as a back end of a script.

Hey Brian, in that case – go for it and enjoy the benefits of a big screen !
Leaving the sizing question aside – your other concerns were capacity of the drives. Could you please specify which exactly laptop you are looking at, with model and its full specs? Whether its a gaming type machine, or more sleek design one?
I assume that not all drives will be internal – or nowadays multiple SSDs can be fitted into win laptop with an ease ?? :)))

Hey Sergei, one of the simplest ways to achieve what you are looking for – apply effects from ‘Audio’ section before converting audio to keyframes. This will help you to get going.
On a different end, if you are familiar with scripting, then I guess it would be possible to process the signal in more advanced and direct ways, especially if external libraries are to be considered.

Mark, I remember facing similar issues in the past, but don’t remember what caused it!
Despite of that – try hiding ‘textDocument.resetCharStyle();’ and see if it helps. I have a sense that this was an issue, which reset to system default and then didn’t worked from there. Please let us know!

Hey Brian, excellent explanation which cover the topic, thanks! Not trying to convince you back from 17′ as much as I could, but will still do my arguments part here, haha!:
1. To get more room and real estate in the screen, you can always make the most out of ‘custom workspaces’, which has only those panels on screen, which you really need at the given time. Assigning shortcuts helps to make it flawless!
2. I am sure there are possible options on win too to ‘extend’ monitor’s screen to, potentially – a tablet on side? So you could get a wider view angle.
3. Even though your travel / movement locations makes completely sense in relation to this screen size topic (so carriage is not that much an issue here), but still – if you are looking at ‘bulkier’ version laps based on specs, it would mean around 4 KGs! If you love to sit and place laptop on your legs, then its also a con.It would be interesting to hear from someone, who actually owns 17’s and have on-hand experience. Maybe my assumptions are way off!

Brian, are you really sure that carrying 17′ laptop won’t be a hassle? Not only its size, but weight will be also a considerable con for this choice. As a person who relies on laptop significantly myself, I would say 15′ would be more convenient travel-suitable laptop.
Anyways, interesting to know your take on the topic, specifically about the sizing here.
