I did the exact same roll before, but it was a few seconds different. So maybe if I change the spacing or length just a bit, it will hit that sweet spot and wobble less.

I am seeing this when I view it on a TV or projected.

I may try the CHV filters, as I have had goo dluck with them.

    Thanks

To clarify what I meant by “not filling the frame….” I have tried various sequence presets in FCP. When I import the 9×16 video that was shot then drop it in the timeline, it is the right shape (9×16) but surrounded by black on all sides. I’d say it is about 1/3 or 1/4 smaller than the preset 9×16 frame. If I Scale to Sequence it enlarges to full-frame top to bottom, but still has thin black bars left and right.

P.S.: The video guys shot my footage on an Ikegami.

April 28, 2005 at 2:41 pm in reply to: Multiple Transitions?

    Andrew,

Thanks forf the tip. Is there any way that you know of adding in multiple transitions once the clips are already on a timeline? I have added the same filter to all of them, but cannot seem to find anyway (like a “select all”) to do so. I would ideally like to lay in a bunch of clips(actually still photos), put a cross-dissolve on them all, and then tweak their location and timing to the music.

Probably can’t be done, but thought I’d see.

    Thanks again.

    ANdrew,

I can’t answer your question, but perhaps you can answer mine…

HOW DO YOU add a transition to multiple sequential clips? I often make shows thare basically slide shows. I line them up and want to add a dissolve to all of them at once. Other than option-dragging a dissolve one-by-one, I don’t know how to do it to say 30 at a time. I’d love to. What do you do?

Yes, I am THE Todd Gipstein, still working with stills, and also some video. Still making multi-image shows, more or less, but doing it in Final Cut. Actually off to a festival in Italy where the show mostly good old M-I and are honoring me with two nights of my MI shows for National Geographic (where I have worked for almost 18 years).

WIth Kodak E3s, I ALWAYS knew what resolution to use. Never rendered a thing. Ane there never were manuals to read.

But seriously, even the FCP manual seems very vague on any number of things. I have been using it for 4-5 years now and get very nice looking DVDs. Still, I am not sure that I couldn’t do better.

Take a look at my website http://www.gipstein.com to see what I am up to.

And, anyway, which codec WOULD look best???

I have 2 LaCie Firewire 800s as well as a LaCie 250 all daisy-chained together and have had no problems with them on the G5. I am about to add another LaCie 200 extreme drive. According to one guy at my local Apple store, you can daisy chain up to 60 devices on a Firewire link… though you might have to build an addition to the studio to house them.
