Sequence- place the playhead – shift+n – drag the frame to a bin, continue until I am satiesfied and then do a batch export.
I have never had any issues with this workflow.Yours Sincerely

I don’t know the size of your project, but one solution could be to start a new project, import video and audio, sync, batch export everything.
Then in your project with the edited sequence reconnect to the new batch. If your project is very large this can be very time consuming- I mean to batch export. Then I would probably manually change the audio, when you have the synced clips.

I have seen it when some people has dragged a videofile directly in the timeline, but never when it seems that the project once was setup to be correct.
I have no clue of what my clients has done, but they told me that they had moved the files around a lot..for what reason I do not know.
I am almost done now, I still just curious of what the main reason is.

Hello Knut
Thanks for your response.
What I meant with “EDL – that didn’t work at all” is that I tried to make an EDL CMX 3600 and when I imported it in DaVinci then there was a conflict on each clip, so I had to choose the right clip for each clip. I also tried to make an EDL (I can’t remember the name) that is used to RED material with room for long reels. But it was the same.
I’ve made both the EDL, AAF and the reference from the same sequence – though the reference had audio as well

Hi Dustin
Avid 5.5 is born with AMA to quick times, so it’s not the plugin that’s missing.
Let’s see if we can narrow it down.– Your files are apple prores 422 (.mov)
– You haven’t got any “/ : ” etc in your file path or filename?
– is it only the prores files you can’t ama-link and have you tried some different files – both different prores files and files of other formats.
– can you import the prores files?Yours Sincerely

Which version of Avid do you have.
I’ve only tried AMA-linking apple prores quicktimes in version 5.0.4 and newer – and then transcoding it afterwards.
I’ve experienced that AVID can’t AMA-link to a folder with “the do not use”-signs, i.e. / : .
