Anybody? I’m curious what the usual workflow is for recapturing an offline tape, even if you don’t have an idea for how to fix my time shift issues.

Well, reimporting the clips seemed to work, although I wish I could say ‘Mystery solved!’ Oh well.

Ok, I’m at a loss. I did Edit>Purge to no avail. Went into Preferences>Cache, and hit “Clean Database & Cache” under Conformed Media Cache. Also temporarily moved all the files from the listed disk cache location, since that folder seems to be shared among other applications. Rebooted the computer, and nothing. I’m running CS5.5 for what it’s worth.

I’ve tried making a brand new composition, copying and pasting from the old comp. No luck. I’ll try completely re-importing the clips into AE, but I’d love to figure out what’s going on here.

Thank you, Dave. I’ll give that a try.

Thanks for all the ideas! CC sounds good, and our department has talked about upgrading; however, I doubt it’s in my cards for this project. I’m shocked, but the Ultra Key suggestion actually worked like a charm. I wasn’t expecting a Premiere key plugin to work so well. This should give me a great launching point! Thank you.

The ‘clips’ I’m referring to are rendered files from After Effects. They’re 720×480 AVI, lossless with alpha. This is the only type of clip I’ve been using. And that video clip will work fine in all the types of sequences I’ve tried except for AJA SD DV.

Great idea – I had not gotten the update. I ran the update and restarted the computer. However, still no luck…

Let me update with a little more information:

I am using an AJA card, and so tend to use the AJA presets. The only preset this doesn’t seem to work on (from the ones I’ve tested anyway), is the AJA SD DV timeline setting. The AJA SD Uncompressed works fine. The standard DV-NTSC Adobe setting works great as well…

Looks like it does work with Vista 64… A simple reboot and I was fine.
