  • The answer to this is when you cache your particles, you need to cache to Internal File instead of External in the Cache Object. Then in the tag on your particles or whatever else is cahced, you have to check the Copy Tag Data switch. Then team render works the right way.

    Hope that helps.

I would try all those other great ideas Cassius, but your lighting adjustment worked already.

    Thanks!!!

Not the best screenshot ever, but it’s all I can really show. You can see the moblurred/shadowed area and the hard line that is present.

OK. Found the solve on this, though it seems to be a bit of a bug that it is happening. I’ve got a shadow catcher floor layer separate from my reflection floor. The shadow floor layer’s reflection intensity was 0%, but when I turned that layer off, the offending reflection went away. It was the “appear in reflection” setting on the shadow floor that was causing the issue and turning that setting to off has solved the problem. So now I’m wondering, if the shadow floor setting for reflection intensity was 0%, why was it creating any reflection at all.

This seems like a bug to me.

Anyway, thanks for trying Todd and I’d love to hear if you have a solid reason for why this was happening.

    Yes Todd,

11.0.2.12 I believe that’s the latest version. I think the render can happen correctly because if I start from scratch with a new floor and two new layers (one for reflection render, one for actual render) it works. So there’s something about my comp causing this I believe.

I have tried that Derby, but I wanted to use the multishader since the film frames are actually not repeated. They are and will be unique film frames on each clone. So is this hopeless?

  • Damn Adam… ur good. And I’m an idiot. Thanks!!!!
