    Jamie,

Did you happen to notice the newspaper he works for? It’s distribution? It’s influence?
Let’s leave the understanding of errors to lesser publications.

His article is also filled with “Apple says…” references. Unless I have missed it Apple
has made no official (or even unofficial) comment on this situation.

Don’t you feel you have paid for this feature multiple times, just in software? I don’t even really want to think about hardware purchases.

I am just very curious about why you seem to so easily accept that so much functionality has been
taken away without any explanation, or any indication, officially, as to what might be done about it.

I’m glad you’re confident it’s coming back, Jonathan. In my experience that is not how Apple
operates. In the meantime good luck doing multicam the old fashioned way. As I recall it’s
just big fun to do 26 half-hour shows that way.

And, aren’t you the least bit curious where it went in the first place. Also, when and if they
actually do these mythical fixes, I guarantee they will have their hand out for another $300
    (or more.)

  • I emailed him about this. He says he “revsing” the article to reflect “the pro’s” concerns.

    It’s “jaw dropping” alright. Unbelievable.

Yes, they will fix it all in a few months. Just like they fixed the Media Manager. And SoundtrackPro. And so many more things that there is no room to list here. Example: View>Single Frames?!

I think that is precisely what they are telling not only you but many broadcast and post facilities (not to mention us poor independents) who have invested heavily in the FCP brand over the past decade.

    David,

I used it off and on just to process short clips here and there and aside from inexplicable
level issues between FCP and STP it worked ok for that. It was when I tried to use it to
actually mix a project (and not that long – 82 minutes) that things went seriously south.
It seems we had the same experience with crashes and stultifyingly slow performance.
A useless waste of hard drive space. How is it that Logic can work so well and STP so badly?

Yes, features that actually work properly would be nice. If it had a function that would
wipe all traces of Soundtrack Pro from my memory that would also be nice.
