Good point. I doubt that I would have the scrot to ask the question in person myself. But it’s still a valid question.

SMPTE evolved out of trying to make sense of a long ago wild west situation much like the one we have now. I don’t think they are trying to impose any standards (or really ever thought they could) on anyone. And I’m not saying that’s what you meant, Jeremy. I just feel that SMPTE’s motives are very often misunderstood.

I don’t think we’re going to see anything new. I am usually wrong. As to questions I’d ask how they define the “pro market.”

Thanks of that, Andrew. It explains a lot. I will now physically, mentally, and spiritually resist saying anything whatever derogatory about Apple. I’ll save that energy for the derogatory Microsoft posts that I’m sure are coming in the near future.

Indeed. Unless I missed some groundbreaking study in the last few years how people see things is psychology. Does Alexa @ 1080p ” look better than 5K from whomever? Who knows?

Indeed, Jeremy. How long will apps run in the cloud? Is that covered in the EULA? How long will all my music and movies stay there? As one who just took one of my favorite movies off the shelf to watch I have to wonder if, in the not to distant future, will I have that option? Or will I be forced to pay again? For goods that I already own?

Looked at the specs and wanted to buy one. Looked at the video and I just wanted it to stop. (but that didn’t really change my mind about wanting to but one.)
