I have an annual subscription but it is billed in monthly increments. So it is necessary for them to keep you card info on file.

Pretty good for straight editing. Still a cluster f**k for multicam. I wish I could just choose what to work with but in my case it’s just not that simple. There is a serious base out there (especially in docs) that is entrenched in FCP 7 and they will be until it finally dies the true death. Same situation with Avid. More and more I use what the project comes to me in. If one comes to me in FCPX then I’ll use that.

No, my math is wrong. If I had to pay a second year at rack rate then I’d pay almost exactly the same as the person who took the guaranteed $479/yr for two years. Actually I’d save two bucks.

Which would end up being quite a bit cheaper than the $29.99 a month for a year “deal” that I got.

I kind of don’t care what it looks like if it meets my needs for – say, five years – even four years – I’ll buy it. But based on what I’ve been seeing out of this company for since about 2008 I would not be surprised if it did not even meet my needs from two years ago.

Patent law these days is surreal. People found business with the sole idea of suing for patent infringement. I was just reading about some goofballs who are suing anyone providing public WI-FI saying they have a patent on it. From what I understand in their corporate literature they say they they have no intention of going after folks using WI-FI in their own homes “at this stage.”
