No, Elements does not allow multiple sequences in a single project. You’ll need Premiere Pro for that.

Yes, you can use the transitions on stills. Since the GPU transitions rely on your video card, there may be a problem there. Try installing the latest drivers for your video card and see if that helps.

Right-click on the clip, choose Speed. Enter -100%.

Right-click on the images, Field Options, choose Always Deinterlace.
That may help with a good deal of them, but it may not solve it for all. You may want to do a search of the CreativeCow forums on this one, as well as the Internet at large. Field issues with still images is a common problem. You may have to use a combination of techniques- deinterlacing, blurring, color shifting, etc. Read up on it and report back after trying some of the techniques.

In your Photoshop file, are the button layers inside of a layer set? This is a requirement for Encore to see it as a button.
When you’re setting up your buttons in AE, since AE doesn’t have layer sets you can use nested comps. When exporting as a layered Photoshop file, AE will turn nested comps into layer sets.
Also, are you using the Adobe Encore DVD options under the Layer menu in AE to create your buttons? It’s nothing special, just a macro that nests comps and renames layers as appropriate, but it sure is handy for setting up your menu in AE.

The issue might be that the AC3 audio is muxed with the MPEG file. (Joe Bowden may be able to confirm that for us.) You’ll probably have to separate (demux) the file and import the video and audio streams separately.

Import your depth matte, put it in the comp, and hide it. Than apply the Lens Blur effect to the layer you want to add DOF to and set the Depth Map Layer property to your depth matte.

It’s still there. Go to the Comp menu, or right-click on the Work Area bar.

There are a couple of ways to do it:
1. There are fonts that include these types of characters. Sometimes that’s all the fonts are. Wingdings and Webdings are classic examples. I have a font called Carta (no idea where it came from) that only does road map symbols. Poke around in your fonts and see what you have.
2. Photoshop’s Shape tool comes with a load of default bookend shapes. Make sure to load the Ornaments shape library, which is pretty much just bookend shapes. I’m sure you can find other shapes out there, and Illustrator probably has a bunch, too.

What version of Premiere are you using?
If you’re using Premiere Pro, you have to double-click on your Sequence in the Project window.
If you’re using an earlier version of Premiere, choose Timeline from the Window menu.
