This forum is best used to solve specific issues…
Vague “software X crashes all the time” statements aren’t very easy to help with as there is nothing to act on.
Obviously if everyone was finding CC or CC 2014 to be unstable or defective, this forum would be overflowing with those experiences.
If you have specifics on what you’re doing when Adobe crashes, the kind of project you are working on, what troubleshooting steps you’ve taken, and what sort of a computer configuration you have…there’s a fair chance someone here might be of assistance.

On Windows, I know I can’t import FLV on CC, and I went back and double-checked AME CS6 before I posted.
Are there Windows users who can load an FLV into Media Encoder CS6?
(I only have to do this on rare occasion, but i do recall needing to convert some FLVs when CS6 was current…but I could not load them)

I might suggest for manageability that you make multiple watch folders…one fr H264…one for MPEG2…QuickTime…whatever makes sense as the groupings, but eve a couple hundred targets on a watch folder won’t be fun to manage much less all of them in one.
Also note that watchfolders don’t work with sequences as a source…only clips. You’ll have to settle on a master file format and lace copies of that master file in each watch folder.

…with all due respect, when was the last time you attempted to import an FLV file as a source into any version of Media Encoder CS6 or later?
At least in my experience on Windows, FLVs have been un-importable compression in AME since CS6. If you end up with FLVs to edit for some unfortunate reason, you are…or at least I’ve been…out of luck.

Digieffects does have Damage, which has an effect called “destabilize”…
It’s not free but for 99.00 USD you get a number of interesting effects including a pretty competent old film/noise/scratches/gate weave/etc filter called “Aged Film”…
Easy to try a free trial anyway…

Cutting the material in Premiere Pro will be no issue whatsoever…I’m not certain if Resolve loads XF footage (XDcamHD422 50 basically) or not…I haven’t tried it.
However, once you were edited, you could export to ProRes to go to Resolve if it was necessary and still save yourself some time and data space over converting everything.

Premiere Pro will spend some time “buffering up” on file types with temporal compression (long GOP), but I don’t know why you’d see such a gap with ProRes…

For what it’s worth, I just tried it and verified it…(Windows 7)
I set the preview file target destination, rendered a preview and verified it went to the right place…
Quit Premiere Pro CC 2014…
Launched PPro CC 2014 from the project file…
Preview file destinations all reset to Project file location.
Seems to be a bug.

Yes, it used to be a bit more “squishy” on that requirement, but you’d see the little angled lines over the parts of the transition where it simply extended freeze frames.
Now, if you drop a transition on a cut with both clips at the end of their media, it will drop it and give you the warning, but if only one side is at physical end it seems to restrict the placement, as well as subsequent drag-trim operations.

hard drive configuration? How full are the media drives? How fragmented are they? What kind of footage? Does it happen with one specific project or all projects?
