It’s now early April, and I’m much happier with my IO HD – I stoppped blaming it for everything wrong and started treating my system with a little more respect. Most problems I was having was down to starting up IOHD after Mac/FCP – it’s RTFM stuff of course. Have the odd problem with sync, but nothing I can’t handle.

Captured and edited spome TVC’s this week, uncompressed 10 bit SD – client attended and the sytem purred throughout.

    I like it.

Doing this certainly hasn’t sorted this problem out for me – having persistent sync probs with IO HD, with projects ranging from PAL DV through PAL ProRes HD/SD and NTSC DVCPRO HD. By the by, AJA TV doesn’t work properly either, picture out is diabolical, and app crashes with Windows-esque regularity.

Have installed firmware update and latest AJA control panel software as well, to no avail.

Bit of an expensive problem for me – had this box just under 3 months now and it’s already cost me about 7 days work trouble shooting and head scratching… not cool at all when it’s a client attended. My fault for buying a bleeding edge product I guess?

  • Ulead MSP 7.0 or 8.0 will accept a swf file in it’s timeline which you can then export as avi / mpeg2 as you wish. The 30 day trial should do the trick.
