I should have specified but they are indeed 48/Khz and 16-bit.

    Thanks, Tom.

I tried “Remove Advanced Pulldown” in FCP’s tools and it makes it 23.98, but something just doesn’t look right…still trouble-shooting this one, as I don’t want to potentially ruin an entire shoot’s worth of footage..

Ahh that makes sense. The client wants it for the web but with the photos at full resolution and at 16:9 for youtube so I was planning on not compressing it at all.

Do you think I need to drop everything into a 640 x 360 sequence to make it fly?

The drives are standard G-Technology G-Drive Q’s–Do you think Lacie is better? Don’t have much experience with them, the company I’m working for has been dealing with G-Tech for a while and apparently switched from Lacie (we’ve got a whole bookshelf filled with deceased Lacie drives from older projects, so I just assumed they switched for a reason).

The failing drives theory makes sense to me, but it just baffles me because it means that we’re losing like one drive every two weeks on drives we’ve only had since early August. And if these drives failed, then what to do next?? Which brand to trust with our floundering budget?
