Okay so I got impatient and I’m just burning the DVD without menu or anything fancy – so it will just play the movie when one enters the DVD.

However – it appears to be stuck on “Initializing..” as it has been on this for an hour. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?

Someone please help!

Also – I shot my film on a Panasonic HVX200 and the project is 720p60 at 23.97FPS.

Do I want to set DVD Standard to SD DVD or HD DVD?

It has taken 3 hrs already and says it needs another 4 hours… does this sound right? It is HQ so it very well might be normal, just want to make sure!

Also – is ENCODE the same as SUBMIT?

In terms of what you said to do for the “video setting in Compressor’s Inspector – that I should turn on Frame Controls”:

The only options for Frame Control are Custom, Automatic or Off.. Should I choose Custom?

Then you say to “change all quality settings to Best.” is the following look correct?

Resize Filter: BEST (statisical prediction)
Output Fields: Same as Source
Deinterlace: Best (Motion compensated)

Rate Conversion: Best (High quality motion compensated)

Also – I have Compressor Ver 2, does that change anything at all since I do not have the updated version?

Do I want Best Quality 90 minutes – 16:9 or 4:3?

I am trying to log & capture some HD footage from a Canon XH A1 to my Final Cut Pro 5.0.4 and I am getting the exact same message: “To Capture HDV source material, both the Capture and Device control presets must be configured for HDV; otherwise, to capture in another format, both must NOT be configured for HDV”

Did you ever solve this problem? i downloaded the Aja Software codec v4.0, as I read that worked for someone else, but it didnt work for me. Did you use a codec? Any help is greatly appreciated!
