I’m running Resolve 19 on an Alienware R16 desktop.

Resolve is giving a list of files it cannot find, but with over 20 it would takes hours to locate and transfer each individually.

Hey Mads,

I have 4 days of material I’ve shot, so finding 14 clips that aren’t there…not sure how to do that or why those clips are not found.

I’m importing an XML file into Resolve, and I get this error message (see image). I’ve tried doing this with importing the footage first, and also without importing the footage first. Same issue both times.

I’m transferring data from my old PC to a new one. On my old PC I have custom presets in Fairlight (EQ, Dynamics, etc). How do I transfer my presets to the new PC?

Thanks but for some reason the dialogue leveler is not present when I select an audio track in Fairlight and then go to the inspector. The leveler is also not present in the mixer.

Running latest version of Resolve but in Fairlight there’s no Dialogue leveler (see attached image.)

Thanks, Phil. I’m thinking of outputting the F3 to an Atomos Shogun recording ProRes.

I’m shooting footage with Sony PMW-F3 camera, set to 29.97 1920×1080, it produces mp4 files. On my PC I can edit and play this file just fine in Resolve and watch it using VLC, but when my client tries to play it on her Mac in FCP X she gets a blank screen with the play button disabled. Can anyone tell me why?

I’m trying to use Dynamic Zoom on the edit page, but when I activate it thru the inspector, the image instantly zooms in a tiny bit. This makes using the zoom impossible, since at the start of the zoom you see what looks like a bad jump cut, from the full frame to, say, 98% of the full frame.

Could someone help me with this?

I’ve got the latest studio version of Resolve, and wonder if it’s possible to create a macro in the Fairlight page? I’m editing lots of voiceover and for each new clip I apply EQ and compression. It would save time if I could automate this task.

I have client permission to post images where you can see the artifacts. Some are of a woman’s head, her bun is neat but the artifacts look like she stuck her finger in a lamp socket. The others are ‘ghost’ images of her arm.

My hope is that seeing these images might help determine why the artifacts are happening.

I was able to use Resolve to easily morph frames from one shot to the next without any issue, using the same footage my client was wrestling with using FCP.

Do you think the length of the flow transition might affect the artifacts? If a 24-frame transition was used instead of a 4 frame transition, do you think that would help?

Yes, the XAVC-I footage from a Sony A7s3 was transcoded prior to making the flow transition.

i also shot footage in ProRes by taking the HDMI output of the Sony A7s3 camera and using an Atomos Shogun to record. Still had the same issue with artifacts in the output file.

I’m not allowed to post any of the video, but the artifacts appear like ‘ghost’…

Yes, the footage was transcoded from XAVC to ProRes before creating the flow transition.

Since my first post, we tried increasing the bit-depth of the footage from 8- to 1-bit, and also tried recording the HDMI output of the Sony A7s3 in ProRes using a Shogun recorder, but these weird artifacts keep appearing.

Hi, I am using Resole to edit .wav files, then Fairlight to add effects, then deliver the file as .wav

My question: does Fairlight use VBR or CBR? Is there a switch somewhere that allows me to choose? I want the default to be CBR.

I’m editing 2 audio tracks, I can see the waveforms of both but suddenly track one is completely silent. I checked in Fairlight and the edit page to see if track 1 was muted and it wasn’t. I feel like I’m doing something wrong but don’t know what it might be.

Haven’t tried it yet but soon will.

The Atomos can also record in DnxHD, do you think I’d encounter the same error with a different codec?

The Atomos is recording ProRes 422. If you think transcoding to a different codec would make a difference I’m all for trying it. What would you suggest?

Some of the clips are nine minutes long. I could break the clip into smaller clips and retime them individually, is that what you’re suggesting? If so, what do you think is a better length for the clips?

The other thing I’ll try is rebooting the PC and running only Resolve so it has the entire system.
