Martin, What is the model number? I’d like to look into it. Thank you.

What did you buy or not buy that led to your loss of footage? I’m not clear on that. Thank you.

  • So we’ve used uncompressed 10 bit and the images look better. But now when we play the program, it hiccups, doesn’t play smoothly.

I’ve got a fast hard drive but I’m guessing that because we normally don’t cut uncompressed, it’s set for a slower throughput speed. Does that sound right? (I’m outside of my area of expertise here). If yes, how do I adjust it to run at it’s fastest speed?

    It’s a G-Speed 3000 FC-R. Thank you.

  • We use ProRes but I completely forgot that even in ProRes we are compressing it, thus like you said there’s nothing better than uncompressed. We’ll do some tests with uncompressed. Thank you.

Good advice. Thank you. It’s my home computer. I’m at the office and just now quickly accessed my home computer to do a scan. I use Trend Micro for that. It actually had just finished a routine scan. A few things showed up, and were taken care of by Trend, but nothing out of the ordinary. While I was on the computer I checked to see what the decoder software is called. It’s called K-Lite. Thanks again.

Thank you for your help. I literally was without a NIC, nowhere to be found on my computer. On the Dell message boards, I searched this problem and was guided to the NIC download. I had to download it from another computer to a flash drive since I didn’t have internet access from this computer, then was able to load it and presto instant internet. The other issue, the DVD decoder, again on the message boards I was guided to a free download. I downloaded it and presto perfect DVD playback. I’m not at that computer right now, so I don’t remember the name of the free DVD decoder download, but if anyone needs it let me know and I’ll get the name.

FC would not launch until I fully removed M100. I thought I’d removed it, even did what Floh suggested above but my inexperience kicked in. It was my senior editor who knew how to remove M100 entirely.

I have another suite with OSX 10.5.8. Tomorrow morning when the suite is free, I’ll try loading M100 again. Tx

Nothing’s ever simple. I cleared the Media 100 apps that I’d loaded to the 10.4.11 suite and now FC won’t open. When you click to open it, the FC window opens in the middle of the screen and at the bottom of that window, the text races through all the apps as though they’re loading, then the window shuts and nothing happens. Any suggestions? Tx

Thanks Matt. The computer I loaded it to doesn’t have an an Intel processor, so I’m going to need to load it to another one of our suites. I’ll delete it from this computer. Is there anything I need to do to get another free trial on the other computer or do I just use the same Trial Installation Code? Tx
