Ty, Thanks that’s very helpful. Generally, do you think it’s necessary to be a full 50 miles away to avoid interference? Tx

The 9-volts that Lectro tested and found to last significantly longer in their products than other 9-volts, including the Duracell ProCell, are the Eveready Gold 9-volts. Those are the ones I’m looking. Does anyone know where those can be bought in bulk? Thank you.

I bought one and I’m trying to remember why it didn’t work, but it didn’t. When we dub to 16X9 SD DVD, we do it by firewire from an XDCAM deck, the PDW-F70. I’m pretty sure the Panasonic DMR firewire wouldn’t communicate with the PDW-F70 firewire. I tried everything and got the manufacturer on the phone, and she eventually concluded that it wasn’t compatible with the PDW-F70.

March 25, 2011 at 1:19 am in reply to: Super Slow Mac/FC System

With the help of AJA support, we checked everything regarding the AJA card and installed the latest update for Kona 3. He said we were way behind in the updates. We rebooted, still didn’t fix the problem. He said that sometimes in FC a project or even a sequence can become corrupted and cause the whole system to slow way down. Any suggestions on how to check that?

Also, when FC reboots, the first thing one sees is the reboot window. It says “Final Cut Pro”. Below that, “Licensed to”. Below that “Version…” and below that it cycles through all the components of FC that are loading. Since I’ve been having this problem, when rebooting, it cycles to “Loading Pro Applications Integration…”. It sticks on that forever, like 5-10 mins, before loading everything else. The AJA tech was very familiar with FC. When I told him that the FC reboot was getting stuck on that particular thing. He chuckled and said he’d never heard of “Loading Pro Applications Integration…”. Is that any indication of what might be wrong? tx

Thanks David. We repaired the permissions, trashed the FC preferences then rebooted and it’s still having the same problem. Is Disc Warrior something I can download, or do I need to buy a disc at Best Buy? tx

Thanks Bret. That’s actually what she already did. I said above that she used a filter to pull back on the yellow, what I meant was she used the 3-way color corrector. In using that, she was pretty limited because it affected the whole picture. Is there a way to isolate and treat just the problem area with the 3-way color corrector?

Hi Gail. I have to get rid of these tapes today. I have to be out of the storage space I’m in by tomorrow afternoon.

I’ll sell you as many as you’d like for $1 ea plus FEDEX ground, if you buy 100 or more. Call me on my cell or email me, cell 415-531-4529 or thomas@thomashughesvideo.com. Let me know how many you’d like and what length.

These tapes have been used once and they haven’t been cleared, they still have footage on them. The outside case is dusty. That can easily be wiped clean. The tapes inside are flawless.

We can do this with a credit card, and I’ll fully guarantee them. If for any reason you’re not satisfied with them, return them and I’ll credit your credit card minus the shipping.

Terry and others, I apologize for posting in more than one thread. I do that only when there’s no thread that’s specific to my problem. I put it in a few places and hope that it will catch someone’s eye who might have experience with it. And I greatly appreciate all the responses I got. tx
