I’m having the same problem. Jon are you saying that people aren’t using the time remapping function in the correct way and that’s why opacity and position keyframes don’t work? I can’t work out what I’m doing wrong here.

    Yep it’s 64 now. It’s been around for a while…

Doesn’t run AE plugins though, cause it’s 64 bit. Fusion 6 is on it’s way too. Haven’t had time to learn fusion yet but I really want to step up to a 64 bit vfx program. Fusion has scripting and macro’s so if you know your java your all set. II’m a plugin geek so I’ve got a lot to learn.

    Awesome Pierre…Thank You very much…

Purging image caches did the job. Haven’t tested it completely but looking good. I keep trying purge all, with no luck. Silly me…

Strange though cause last time I used video gogh in another project, I didn’t have to purge anything and I was getting the desired result.

Once again thanks for the help…

    Thanks for info Pierre…

What do you exactly mean by “if you set something at other then first frame, you have to go to first frame and purge the memory”

I think I get what you mean but wanted to make sure…I’ve been avoiding the issue since I posted. If I solve the problem, definitely post the solution.

Flicker was probably the wrong term too…The brush strokes change a brutal rate that it cause a flicker like effect. I’ve played with the death and birth rates but they don’t seem to do anything.

December 13, 2008 at 3:04 pm in reply to: CS4 on 64-bit XP?

The reason adobe don’t mention xp is purely because Microsft have ditched xp. They want all companies to work with Vista. As you know Cs3 work’s relatively okay on xp 64 and it was never listed by adobe. You would be pretty safe in taking a punt on CS4 working but be ready for the posibility that it may not. Meaning you’ll have to install vista 64.

Personally I’d stay with CS3. Your not going to get that much better performance from CS4. I’ve read heaps of posts with people having performance issues. Adobe has just released an update for CS4 a few days ago. So Hopefully it’s alll smooth sailing with CS4 now…

But at the end of the day CS4 isn’t a 64 bit program and you may have to upgrade to Vista. Save yourself some cash. If you want performance increase, make sure you’ve got nucleo pro 2, at least 2 gig of ram per core and even look at getting a better graphics card.

I was shattered when I found out CS4 wasn’t 64 bit. Eyeon Fusion and Nuke are 64 bit programs though.

    Awesome!!! So simple…

“Hey. I had the same problem. Just figured out how to fix it and so I figured I’d share the knowledge.

Edit –> Preferences –> Audio Hardware –> ASIO Settings. From there just make sure all the devices are checked.

    Hope this helps someone!”

Well it helped me, thanks a lot mate!!!

December 4, 2008 at 2:51 pm in reply to: Green cross appears on ram preview

By turning of multiprocessing, the mark has now left the building.

Funny thing is that AE still would render out but with the green cross mark???

Vista does chew up a lotta ram…Probably need to free up some. Got no idea how too though. Need to research that one…Gonna have to get NP now. What’s the trial alllow you to do?

Would love to get multiprocessing back on…

I also read that moving the prefrences folder on to the desktop, resets AE which helps preview poblems. Where do I find this folder on a PC. Is it the adobe folder in users/tom/documents/adobe/afterefffectscs3/userpresets? I could only find a thread about doing it on a MAC not PC

I will keep this updated for future reference too.
