    I hope it isn’t a coincidence. Recently I’m using my digital camera to take the sunny sky photos. With these ingredients I create this blue sky generator in PI for making the Sky Box with ease. Originally it was not supposed to be animated until I saw your request here…
    Or I may misunderstand your course since I’m not a native speaker of English.

    Do you mean this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchking ? Sorry I have never watch LOTR Return for some reason. But I would like to share my experience on the elemental weapon effect.
    First, you can find a “fire sword” video clip included in the “Customer demo reel” at about 5/6 position, which can be downloaded in Wondertouch main page. IMO, I like making the flame flies more dramatically.

    Notable parameter setting:
    * Particle type: Flame
    ** animated smoke texture
    ** Intense, Preserve coloring
    ** Color over life – from red to black.
    *** If you don’t like the max intense white, you can
    **** lower the visibility;
    **** lower the number(quantity) of particle;
    **** change the color tone to more saturant red.
    ** Size of flame particle
    *** unlocked aspect of particle size
    *** Size x over life – increasing
    *** Size y over life – decreasing
    ** Motion of flame particle
    *** Emission angle – 90 degree
    **** requires animating adjustment to fit the video clip
    *** Emission rangle – below 30 degree
    *** Particles’ behavior – Align to Motion 0 degree
    **** “Keep aligned to motion” – on
    *** velocoty requires animating adjustment to fit the swinging speed / curvature of sword.
    *** velocity variation – some

    At that time we may see a Particle Illusion X which requires GPU and PPU support…

    It’s a Particle Illusion 3 project file. Strange, I can download, unzip, open it myself without problem…

    I’ve also played Metal Slug long time ago but right now I can not view any streamed video due to non-broadband connection. I crop the fireball from the screen shot in PS and import them into PI3.

    There’s 2 types of ripple you can generate in PI3. One is fake distortion effect with “get color from layer” function. It generally looks realistic. You can find some useful reference in library emitters_04_01.il3, from monthly library download section. Another one is simply to apply a ring shape texture and adjust the “size during life” from small size to large size then set velocity, motion rand. to zero. It’s already available in the PI:SE/PI3 library Default.il3 (water folder).

    Wish you good luck. In fact I’m too lazy so the cloud texture is reasonable harsh, and the remaining black border makes the result looks more like a cel-shading product rathan than realistic mimic… XD
