May 27, 2017 at 7:12 am in reply to: PP CC 2014 – adjustment layers flickering problemMY FIX (ie. workaround):
I simply added my sequence (with the adjustment layer on top) into a nested composition. It seems the issue is when the actual adjustment layer is on top. The nested sequence doesn’t have the adjustment layer on top (it’s embedded in the nested clip on the timeline) and the problem doesn’t exist for me anymore.I know it’s not a fix, but a workaround. I hope this helps someone.

Thanks Tero. I don’t know why my attachments didn’t post, I went through the motions of attaching them.
Here’s a DropBox link, which I know works.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kdgcektixpn2y0m/CC_InPremiere.png?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/waorsek7oasf1sg/CC_InQT.png?dl=0I opened in Quicktime 10 and 7. Same results.
If I re-import in Premiere it looks correct. Must be a QT issue? (VLC looks good, too, but not exact.)
What’s the truth here? When I send this film out, what is it going to look like?
Thanks again.

Hard to tell, there could be several things, but here’s what I’ve experienced in the past.
Premiere needs both the file name and the location to be the same as it was when first imported. Did you use a process or program to change the file names as a batch? Is the file structure the same as it was when first imported?
Of course there may be many other reasons this isn’t working, but in my experience, if the names and file structure is the same (or similar enough for Premiere to “fix” it), you should be good.
Not sure if it helps, but something to also look into. Good luck.

Ah, it’s an effect on the layer, not the actual layer itself, got it. The screengrab I was given looks like it was it’s own layer at first glance.
Well, that’s awesome. I never knew that happened. Do any other effects give you visual information like that within the timeline? I think I’ll have to investigate. Thanks.

Thanks Walter. I’ve been using and teaching AE for years and NEVER seen that before. I guess this leads to my next question…. how do you keyframe the color? I don’t see a keyframe option when I select the label color. Thanks!

It sounds like your anchor point is not centered on your “C” shape in AE. There is a tool in the toolbar to adjust the center point (called the pan behind tool). It will allow you to adjust the anchor point, which is used to “tack” the image to the comp, and where all transform adjustments work from. Add “anchor point” and “pan behind tool” to your search terms. Hope that helps.

November 27, 2015 at 6:55 am in reply to: Effect controls window not showing my effectsFor anyone with a similar situation, but not the Built-in effects, make sure your effects tab isn’t “locked” to a layer that has no effects added. There is a little lock at the top of the effects tab, that should look unlocked.

November 27, 2015 at 6:52 am in reply to: Issues with Play/Stop using spacebar in after effects cc 2015This is a late post.
CC2015 changed from the old Spacebar, 0, and . keys to just a simple Spacebar playback. First click will play as it loads the comp into RAM (indicated with the green bar above the timeline). If that bar is not 100% green, pressing a second time will play back the clip from the IN point to the point where the green bar ends. Pressing a THIRD time will stop the playback. IF you have a solid green line from IN to OUT point the spacebar will work as it did in 2014, with one click being start, and the second being stop. Hope that helps.

March 7, 2013 at 2:50 am in reply to: Premiere Won’t Play Anything in the TimelineThis worked for me:
Remove the Aggregate Devices plist file.
1.Open the Finder and navigate to /YOUR_HD/Library/Preferences.
2.Rename the com.apple.audio.AggregateDevices.plist file, or move it to the trash.
3. Restart Soundbooth or Adobe Premiere Pro and retry.I didn’t even have to restart, but if you have the same issue I did (which sounds like you did) hopefully this will work.
