July 10, 2006 at 5:34 pm in reply to: DVC Pro HD codec help needed

I dont know on a mac but on pc you can download the tryout version of CINEFORM ASPECT for premiere and convert the P2 file in cineform codec with HDlink… it will open fine in After Effects. When the tryout will expire, you can still use the footage you digitize.

good luck! its not an easy process… p2 is a pain in the a** the first time!

aaaaargh! that really suck! adobe really have both thumbs in the nose… especially considering AE is a memory intensive application…

at least adding memory I will be able to run more applications together…

    thanks for your answer!

  • if you wanna use the trial, just be sure you put a name ine the name field.. if not the installer will always ask you a serial. If you put a name, you can install the trial mode.

press shift when opening the preferences, you will find a secret panel at the bottoms of the prefs… you can tell after effects there to purge memory each x number of frames in render.

why they make it secret? dont know, its usefull, they (adobe) are stupid hiding it.

    good luck!

no… there an obvious difference in the calculation from standard to advanced but it still quite basic blur made for speed… put a camera with blur boosted to 600 and play with the apertaure and focus distance on a solid square, you will see what im talking about… not a nice bokeh in any case!
