A quick way to set the white balance: Add the color correction FX to the event (or to the whole track or project).
In the popup window that opens, you find 3 colorwheels. The left one is used to correct the dark colors, the middle one to correct the midtones and the right one to set the white balance.
Beneath the colorwheel are two pipets.
Click on the left pipet beneath the right wheel. Your mouse becomes visible as a pipet. Click with your mouse (the pipet shape) in your preview window on a part that is supposed to be white. See the result immediatly.
If you are not satisfied with the result, just repeat on another white spot in the preview window.Theo

If you open the pan/crop window of a PNG file, right-click in the preview area and select MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT, would that solve the problem?

It should be easy to sve your project 30 times, with everytime 1 second less. Then you can render those projects automaticly with someting like Production Assistant.

Did you add the color correction FX to the event or to the whole track?
Below the timeline in the FX window is a small LOCK button. Activation of this button synchronizes both timelines. Did you activate this one?

I did sometime ago. And Peter Mcauley from Boris FX replied with:
‘To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed with regard to the Vegas host passing the plug-in any sequence data / alternate frames in time. Until that happens we can’t perform the stabilization. You can stabilize the clip using RED in standalone mode though, but you probably know this already.’And yesterday, when I mentioned your solution, Matt Mullen (also from Boris FX) said:
‘Theo,Yes 9 is fully supported as long as you are not running a 64 bit app.
The vegas 8 install option will install into 8 but you can point it to the version 9 folder or move them manually as you stated.’

Today I learned a very simpel solution for this problem from John Rofrano:
He wrote: “All you have to do is copy the BorisXXX.dll files that are in the Vegas Pro 8.0\Video Plug-Ins folder over to the Vegas Pro 9.0\Video Plug-Ins folder and restart Vegas.”
And this solves the problem!

‘I’m not sure why you would think that. Boris FX is a plug-in to Vegas just like all of the other plug-ins. Boris RED, FX, and Graffiti all come as both standalone and as plugins for Sony Vegas.’
Do you mean that Boris FX works for you as a plug-in into Vegas Pro 9. My Vegas 9 still doesn’t recognize Boris FX or Graffitti.
And Boris FX plugged into Vegas 8 Pro can only see one frame, meaning that things like stabilization require a special trick before it works in Vegas.Theo
